Explore São Vicente

Golfinho Hotel is in the Itararé district of São Vicente, on the São Paulo coast in the region known as the Baixada Santista. It is a residential, everyday part of town, with a bakery on the corner and the promenade filling up again once the heat drops out of the afternoon.

Itararé beach is roughly 1.1 km from the door and Gonzaguinha about 1.8 km, so the coast is close without the hotel sitting directly on the sand. The surrounding streets stay quieter at night while the water is still a few minutes away in the morning.

Getting around the coast

This part of the coastline rewards a little planning. Some of it is genuinely walkable from the hotel, some of it belongs to a morning in the car, and the rest depends on how the seafront traffic behaves on the day you set out.

On foot

The beach at Itararé is close enough to walk, and the promenade continues in both directions once you reach it, so an evening stroll can be as long or as short as you like. The streets immediately around the hotel carry bakeries, small restaurants and shops for anything you forgot to pack.

By car

The wider area is easiest to cover by car, and free private parking on site makes that practical rather than a daily search for a space. Santos sits next door on the same stretch of coastline, and heading the other way the road out of São Vicente climbs toward São Paulo through the Serra do Mar.

Around the Baixada Santista

São Vicente and Santos run into one another along the seafront, so most of the region's museums, gardens and beaches sit within a short trip of the hotel. Journey times shift noticeably between a quiet weekday and a summer weekend, which is worth allowing for when planning a day out.

Some travel systems write the same address as Rua Da Constituicao, 538, São Vicente, CEP 11320-210, Brazil. Both refer to the same building, which is worth knowing if a map application struggles with the longer version.

External travel resources

These sites are run by the local city governments rather than by Golfinho Hotel, and they open in a new tab. They are the most reliable place to check opening hours, public events and seasonal changes along the coast before you set out for the day, since details shift between high summer and the quieter months.
